When my parents were small, 25 cents would purchase an all day ticket to their local matinee. For a quarter, they could catch up on the antics of Abbott and Costello, Tarzan the ape man, Francis the talking mule, and Ma and Pa Kettle. They could escape into these wonderful worlds created to capture their imaginations and tickle their funnybones. Thirty years later it didn't even cost me a quarter. Every Saturday the local TV channel would air double features of classic films. For the first time I got to see Abbott and Costello join the foreign legion, or get chased by Frankenstein's monster. Time had in no way tarnished these film's ability to transport young minds. While most kids were outside playing sports or catching insects, I was inside watching Blondie help Dagwood out of another scrape. Now another thirty years later, my children have the opportunity to see these great films on DVD or on the internet. Nothing brings me greater pleasure than watching them see Laurel and Hardy in "The March of the Wooden Soldiers" or "The Three Stooges Meet Hercules" for the first time. It is a truly a wonderful experience to
witness the reflection of my childhood joy in their smiles and laughter. It's hard not to wonder in what form my Grandchildren will be exposed to these magical moment makers some thirty years from now, and what excitement they will feel having discovered these cinematic treasures anew. That is the true beauty of classic films. While the makers of these great films have all but passed away, their wonderful films will continue to entertain for many generations to come. We, at Early Days Productions have made it our mission to teach new audiences about classic films while creating new entertainment in the spirit of old. Whether you want to read about your favorite classic movie star, watch classic movies, or watch one of our original programs, we are sure you will find something for everyone in your family to enjoy. Happy viewing!
